Method for the analysis and evaluation of the prevalence of odontomas in children and adolescents by means of Compensatory Fuzzy Logic
Main Article Content
Abstract
Odontomas are the most common benign odontogenic tumors in the oral cavity; however, the eruption of this type of lesion is rare, occurring in 1.6% of cases. These are made up of enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp tissue. They are classified histologically into two groups: compound odontomas, which present normal dental tissues, but with an alteration in their conformation and size, and complex odontomas, which present well-formed dental tissues, but surrounded by disorganized tissue. But we can also classify them clinically into three types: central odontoma, peripheral odontoma and eruptive odontoma. The objective of this research is to develop a method for the analysis and evaluation of the prevalence of odontomas in children and adolescents using Compensatory Fuzzy Logic.
