Multicriteria neutrosophic method to evaluate coronectomy in lower third molar surgery
Main Article Content
Abstract
During surgery of lower third molars, several complications may arise affecting important anatomical structures and nerves that are around them, such as the inferior alveolar nerve (INA), due to the close relationship of the roots and the third molar, where the technique Surgical procedure called coronectomy is an alternative in which the coronary portion is extracted and the roots of the dental organ are maintained. Based on this background, the present research aims to develop a multicriteria neutrosophic method to evaluate coronectomy in surgery of included lower third molars. The proposed method bases its operation on a multi-expert multi-criteria approach with the use of neutrosophic numbers. The results of the method affirm the effectiveness of this technique, reducing the risk of paresthesia, when the roots have intimate contact with the nerve or possible fractures of the dental organ in areas of anatomical fragility.
