Abstract

Organized crime represents a serious threat to the social, political and economic stability of Ecuador. The present research aims to develop a method to assess the incidence of organized crime in Ecuador. The proposed method bases its operation on a multi-criteria multi-expert approach using neutrosophic numbers. To enrich the knowledge base of the method, an exhaustive analysis of the phenomenon of organized crime in the Ecuadorian context was carried out from a multidisciplinary perspective, with a main focus on law. The various aspects of organized crime were examined, including its nature, structures, modus operandi, and its impact on society and the justice system. The proposed method is applied in a case study on the current panorama of Ecuador.
