Abstract
The aim of the research is to implement a Neutrosophic Hierarchical Analytic Process to analyse the evolution of the perception of animals and their legal protection. Throughout history, the recognition and protection of animal rights have undergone significant transformations, driven by various social and religious currents, such as Christianity. Currently, although it is increasingly recognized that animals are capable of feeling suffering, their status remains primarily that of objects of legal protection rather than subjects of rights. Several solutions have been proposed, including the legal recognition of domestic animals as subjects of rights and the formulation of specific laws for their protection. At the international level, treaties have been developed that address the conservation of animals and their environment, emphasizing their importance for biodiversity and ecological balance. However, the absence of a solid international legal framework for animal welfare is a critical deficiency in international law.
