Method for the evaluation of the effects of sodium hypochlorite accidents in children in pediatric dentistry using Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping
Main Article Content
Abstract
Extrusion of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is a very rare accident whose most common complications include pain, swelling, and hematoma. Although it is rare, its effects can be serious if the procedure, diagnosis, treatment guidelines, predisposing conditions and the patient's risk factors are not taken into account. The present investigation proposes a solution to the problem described through a recommendation system for the evaluation of the effects of accidents with sodium hypochlorite in children in pediatric dentistry. The proposed method bases its operation on a fuzzy cognitive map to model uncertainty in causal relationships. A case study is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposal.
