Abstract

Obesity is caused by multiple factors that can significantly affect people's lives, causing serious health problems and diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, among others. In this sense, it is important to determine the risk factors that cause obesity in adolescents from the Housing Popular neighborhood, to reduce the risks of morbidity and mortality in this group. Multicriteria techniques can be used to treat problems of this type. The present research proposes the development of a method to evaluate the risk factors for obesity in adolescents from the Vivien-da Popular Tulcán 2023 neighborhood. The method proposal uses a multi-criteria approach in its processing using Delphi with neutrosophic numbers. A questionnaire with closed questions was applied to determine risk factors in adolescents. Among the main risk factors that predispose obesity were lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, genetics, family history and social conditions.
