Abstract

Community participation in citizen security consists of the active collaboration of the community with the authorities, to prevent, detect and respond to situations of crime and violence, demonstrating the capacity of a community to regulate the behavior of citizens through rules, norms and values translated into regulations. Citizen security and community participation have a close relationship since their interweaving promotes peaceful coexistence and the prevention of situations that are considered risks, revealing violent situations, contributing to strengthening collective responsibility, keeping in mind the importance of norms and standards values within a society, generating well-being of the community and guaranteeing the empowerment of citizens' rights. The objective of this research is to develop a neutrosophic method for recommending community participation in crime prevention in Ecuador.
