Neutrosophic multicriteria method for the self-assessment of shrimp farming in Ecuador: between economic prosperity and environmental damage
Main Article Content
Abstract
The shrimp industry in Ecuador has experienced a vertiginous development in the last decades, constituting the first non-oil exportable line, growth at the expense of a significant impact on mangrove ecosystems and the communities that depend on them, manifesting ecological consequences in the conversion of natural ecosystems for the construction of shrimp ponds, and effects such as salinization of agricultural soils, contamination of coastal waters, and impacts on biodiversity. A descriptive and transversal research was carried out, which is why its objective is oriented towards: applying a neutrosophical multicriteria method for the self-assessment of shrimp farming in Ecuador: between economic prosperity and environmental damage. The research was developed under the postulates of sciences applied to neutrosophy and as a sample, students of veterinary medicine at the Universidad Regional Autónoma de los Andes, Ambato, Ecuador. The results have an adequate level of validity. The main conclusion of this research is the need to address new aspects to enrich the knowledge of students on this subject.
