Abstract

Currently, smoking has become a global health problem, since it not only increases the risk of developing periodontal disease, but also highly significantly affects the response to periodontal treatment and oral surgical processes. The objective of this research is to develop a neutrosophic method to measure the response of the periodontal tissues of smoking patients to the healing process. The results obtained with the implementation of the neutrosophic method demonstrate that smoking directly influences the healing process of periodontal tissues, with smoking patients presenting dry socket, hemorrhages and intense pain after oral surgical processes such as extraction of a tooth.
