Abstract

. Artificial intelligence in nephrology is very useful in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of kidney pathologies, mainly because it uses intelligent algorithms that reduce hospital care time by organizing patient information and using advanced techniques such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and extracorporeal renal purification therapies. In addition, the incorporation of new advances in nanotechnology for renal therapies and the development of an artificial kidney that could replace a kidney transplant are processes that nephrologists are beginning to explore in this field. This research aims to develop a system of recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence in nephrology. The results emphasize the importance of artificial intelligence in medicine and its application in nephrology, especially for chronic kidney patients who require renal replacement therapies. It was found that patients diagnosed early had better life expectancy compared to those who sought medical attention only after the onset of obvious symptoms, thus highlighting the importance of using AI in the diagnosis of patients in the nephrology area.
