Abstract

The success of Endodontic therapy depends on several factors, the skills, knowledge and training of the clinician being essential. Since the procedures are performed in millimeters, great precision is required through the use of magnification. Fine motor skills improve using appropriate lighting and magnification devices, describing numerous advantages when incorporating magnification into clinical practice. It is important to determine if these technologies are currently used because the use of this mechanism to perform endodontic treatments in a more effective way is unknown. The objective of this research is to develop an aggregation model to measure the effectiveness of magnification in endodontics. With the developed method, it was possible to demonstrate that there are certain essential advantages in the use of magnification, including better visualization, improved ergonomics, less eye strain and its positive effect on the development of fine motor skills.
