Abstract
Contamination of dental instruments is a problem that affects the safety and health of patients and professionals. Dental procedures, due to their contact with biological fluids, increase the risk of infections if sterilization and disinfection practices are not properly followed. On the other hand, the main routes of infection in a dental office are: direct contact with the body fluids of an infected patient and contact with surfaces before, during and after dental treatments. The present research aims to develop a multicriteria neutrosophic method for the evaluation of aerobic microorganisms present in the trays of students at the Universidad Regional Autónoma de los Andes in Ecuador. The findings of this research indicate a low bacterial load in the metal impression trays used by dental students and indirectly reflect compliance with disinfection protocols.
