Main Article Content
Abstract
The responsibility of the State regarding the comprehensive reparation for indirect victims of femicide between 2014 and 2021 in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas has been slow and inadequate. Merely uncovering the truth behind these abhorrent crimes and delivering justice is not enough. The distressing question remains: What do we do for the children and adolescents left behind? This study aims to address that question by examining the situation in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas during the specified period and evaluating the effectiveness of both public and private organizations in assisting the families affected by 23 femicide cases, as reported by the Prosecution Management of the General State Attorney's Office in this province. Shock- ingly, the statistics provided by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES) indicate that only ten children received sporadic psychological and social support in 2019. Furthermore, the research data reveals that 65% of cases had no records of state or judicial assistance for comprehensive reparation. The focus seems to be on establishing institutions to combat these crimes, but little is being done to support the surviving victims through effective legal protection and comprehensive reparation.
This study adopts a mixed qualitative-quantitative approach, employing a synthetic-inductive method and utilizing interviews. The method used is an Automated Interview Coding approach based on Neutrosophy, focusing on sentiment analysis. The most significant conclusion drawn from this research is that the response to assisting indirect victims of femicide is severely delayed, violating Article 78 of the Constitution
