Abstract

Among the different carcinoma lesions in the oral cavity, squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most frequent malignant tumors appearing in the oral mucosa and other structures. Recognizing its early clinical manifestations helps the professional to prevent the evolution of these lesions to more advanced stages, as well as to know the differential characteristics with other lesions. A transversal research was carried out and its objective was: to perform a neutrosophic study on the knowledge of the most frequent clinical manifestations of squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity establishing differential diagnoses. Theoretical methods and techniques such as synthetic analytical, inductive and deductive were used. Empirical methods such as the survey and mathematical statistics, including descriptive and inferential statistics. The study showed that students still need to go deeper into the clinical characteristics of squamous cell carcinoma in the most frequent regions in the oral cavity as well as the initial lesions that develop early as leukoplakia, which evolve into different lesions, mainly malignant, squamous cell carcinoma.
