Analytical Hierarchical Neutrosophic Analytical Process to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments for benign lesions caused by human papillomavirus in pregnant women
Main Article Content
Abstract
Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) worldwide. High oncogenic risk viruses are responsible for cervical cancer and low risk viruses are responsible for benign lesions such as condylomata acuminata. In relation to pregnancy, it is stated that HPV infection is more prevalent in pregnant women than in non-pregnant women, and that it increases as pregnancy progresses. The objective of this research is to develop a method based on the Neutrosophic Hierarchical Analytical Process to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments in benign lesions caused by the human papillomavirus in pregnant women. Cryotherapy and laser therapy were the procedures with the highest reports of effectiveness and safety during pregnancy. To date, there is little evidence on the treatment of benign human papillomavirus lesions during pregnancy. The benefit of treatment on maternal and fetal complications of the disease is clear, but there are some gaps regarding the effectiveness and safety of the available treatments.
