Applications of Augmented Reality in Mathematics Teaching for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Benefits, Challenges, and Implementation Strategies
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article explores the applications of augmented reality (AR) in teaching mathematics to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The main objective is to analyze the benefits of AR, the challenges in its implementation, and effective strategies to overcome these obstacles. Through a review of existing literature and an empirical study with children diagnosed with ASD, we investigate how AR can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts, increase student motivation and engagement, and facilitate more personalized instruction. The results show that AR offers significant advantages in special education, but also faces technical challenges and resistance to change. To address these challenges, specific strategies are proposed, including educator training, gradual integration of technology, and adaptation of AR tools to individual students' needs. This study lays the groundwork for future research and practical applications in the field of inclusive education.
