E-learning and blended learning: Strategies for teaching and learning differently in times of pandemic

Abstract

In the scientific article, a generalizing conception associated with the use of e-learning and blended learning is presented, due to its non-presential character as a possible strategy during social isolation in the current conditions of pandemic. The systematization carried out is conceived on the basis of conceptually delimiting the e-learning and blended learning categories with the aim of establishing the theoretical positioning of the authors regarding the referred subject. Next, some potentialities of these tools are summarized for their use in the direction of the university teaching-learning process in the current conditions of the pandemic, and finally a group of pedagogical recommendations are provided that can be considered by teachers for the use of e-learning and blended learning in the current psychosocial conditions generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is included the modeling of the critical success factors by means of neutral cognitive maps. It is concluded that in the referred conditions, teachers, when conceiving or developing any pedagogical activity, must consider that students, their families and friends go through a complex psychosocial situation, which must be taken into account for the direction of the teaching-learning process in these virtual environments.
