Abstract

Environmental waste represents an essential element to ensure the subsistence of the human species. The CHEVRON-TEXACO case impacted the indigenous communities of the Amazonian province of Sucumbíos. This event marked a milestone in the evolution of environmental regulations for Ecuador. The present research aims to implement a multicriteria neutrosophic method for the evaluation of the evolution of environmental law in Ecuador from the ruling in the Chevron-Texaco case. As a result of the application of the proposed method, the evaluation of the evolution of environmental law in Ecuador is obtained from the aforementioned ruling in order to identify improvements in national regulations by identifying the most relevant aspects as well as highlighting significant changes in the concepts before the application of the rights recognized in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador.
