Direct Marketing and Solicitation Policy
Direct Marketing and Solicitation Policy
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems (NSS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and professionalism in all forms of communication and outreach. This includes email marketing, calls for papers, editorial invitations, and conference partnerships.
The journal strictly avoids predatory marketing, misleading solicitation, or deceptive recruitment practices.
- Ethical Communication Principles
All direct communications (e.g., email invitations, calls for papers, partnership inquiries) issued by NSS must adhere to the following principles:
- Truthfulness: Messages must accurately describe the journal’s scope, indexing status, editorial process, and APCs.
- Targeting: Communications are directed only to scholars whose fields align with the journal’s thematic areas (e.g., neutrosophy, logic, applied mathematics, computational theory, etc.).
- Transparency: All invitations or solicitations identify the sender (name, affiliation, contact information), purpose, and relevant deadlines or requirements.
- Professional tone: Messages are academic in nature, respectful in tone, and free from aggression and commercialism in presentation.
- Calls for Papers and Special Issues
NSS periodically distributes Calls for Papers (CFPs) via:
- Email (to targeted scholars and past contributors)
- Academic mailing lists
- Conference announcements
- The journal’s official website and social media
All CFPs include:
- Thematic focus
- Guest editor(s) (if applicable)
- Submission deadlines
- APC policy
- Peer review process overview
- Editorial Recruitment
When inviting scholars to join the editorial board or serve as reviewers:
- Invitations are personal, clearly explain the role, and are based on academic merit
- No misleading claims are made about journal impact, ranking, or indexing
- Participation is voluntary and non-remunerated
- No Spam or Automated Solicitation
- NSS does not use mass email bots, paid lead generators, or unsolicited bulk marketing software
- The journal complies with anti-spam regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR), including clear opt-out instructions
- Individuals who no longer wish to receive communications can request removal from the mailing list at any time
- Misrepresentation and Journal Identity
The journal:
- Does not imitate the branding or naming of other journals or publishers
- Maintains a unique visual identity and domain associated with the University of New Mexico
- Uses official, verifiable emails (e.g., with unm.edu or affiliated domains)
Any suspicion of imitation, misleading claims, or unethical marketing is taken seriously and addressed by the editorial office.
- External Collaborations and Partner Invitations
When NSS partners with conferences, institutions, or research groups:
- The collaboration is clearly disclosed
- All invitations and announcements related to such partnerships follow the same transparency standards.
- No special issue is created without formal approval by the Editor-in-Chief and editorial boar.d
- Reporting Misuse
If any researcher receives misleading or unsolicited messages claiming to represent NSS, we strongly encourage them to report it to: smarand@unm.edu
We will investigate all cases and take appropriate actions, including public clarification or internal disciplinary measures.
