Publishing Frequency and Archiving Policy
Publishing Frequency and Archiving Policy
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems (NSS) is committed to the consistent and timely dissemination of scholarly research. The journal maintains a regular publication schedule and implements robust digital archiving protocols to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content.
- Publishing Frequency
- NSS follows a monthly publication schedule.
- Articles are published continuously online as they are accepted and finalized, then compiled into monthly volumes.
- This rolling publication model allows faster dissemination of accepted work while maintaining a structured volume system.
Archive Access:
All published volumes and issues, dating back to the journal’s founding in 2013, are freely available in the journal’s online archive: https://fs.unm.edu/nss8/index.php/111/
- Print Archiving
- NSS maintains physical print copies of all volumes.
- These are permanently stored at:
Hayden Library, Special Collections,
Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe, AZ 85287, United States.
This ensures an offline, institutional backup of all published content for historical and scholarly preservation.
- Digital Preservation
The journal is taking active steps to ensure the digital preservation of all published materials in case of:
- Website failure
- Publisher transition
- Journal closure
Long-term preservation strategies include:
- Regular server backups through the University of New Mexico (UNM) IT infrastructure.
- Local institutional repository archiving.
- Integration (in progress) with recognized third-party digital preservation services such as:
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
- CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
- Portico (forthcoming)
- DOI Assignment and Metadata Registration
- All published articles are assigned DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) via Zenodo
- Article metadata is regularly deposited to Zenodo for:
- Long-term traceability
- Indexing
- Interoperability across digital libraries and citation platforms
- Accessibility and Searchability
- All journal content is fully open access, without embargo or paywall.
- Articles are indexed and accessible via scholarly databases and are structured for optimal discoverability through metadata standards.
The journal adheres to OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) to enable repository and aggregator integration.
- Data and Supplementary Files Archiving
- Supplementary materials (e.g., datasets, appendices, figures) are hosted alongside the main article.
- Authors are encouraged to archive data in trusted repositories and include persistent links (e.g., Zenodo, OSF, Dryad).
- Journal Continuity and Succession Planning
In the unlikely event that the journal ceases publication:
- All content will remain publicly available through the current archive.
- Copies will be preserved at UNM and ASU libraries.
- The journal will ensure that DOIs and metadata remain active and resolvable.
