Editorial Board and Governance Policy
Editorial Board and Governance Policy
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems (NSS) is governed by a diverse and international editorial board composed of experts and scholars in the fields of neutrosophy, logic, applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, computer science, and interdisciplinary systems. The editorial governance structure ensures academic independence, editorial integrity, and full adherence to international standards of scholarly publishing.
- Editorial Structure
The journal’s editorial governance consists of:
- Editor-in-Chief(s): Responsible for overall editorial direction, strategic development, and final publication decisions.
- Managing Editor(s): Oversees daily editorial operations, communications, and workflow management.
- Associate Editors and Section Editors: Handle manuscript assignments, supervise peer review, and make recommendations on editorial decisions.
- Editorial Board Members: Provide scientific and ethical guidance, review submissions, promote the journal, and contribute to special issues or initiatives.
Each member is appointed based on academic merit, relevant expertise, and adherence to the journal’s ethics and scope.
- Criteria for Board Membership
Board members are selected according to the following criteria:
- Recognized scholarly expertise in one or more fields relevant to the journal
- Strong publication record in Scopus-indexed or high-impact journals
- Institutional diversity (from various countries and institutions)
- Commitment to the journal’s peer review standards and publication ethics
The list of board members, including full names, academic titles, institutional affiliations, and countries, is published transparently on the journal website (Editorial Board).
- Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently and without influence from owners, sponsors, institutions, or commercial entities. No member of the editorial team is permitted to:
- Accept a manuscript for personal or institutional gain
- Allow political, ideological, or financial pressure to affect decisions
- Handle submissions where a clear conflict of interest exists
Authors submitting papers affiliated with an editor must be handled by an independent editor or external reviewer to avoid bias.
- Term Limits and Rotation
To ensure vitality and diversity:
- Editorial roles are reviewed every 3–5 years
- Members may rotate based on activity, performance, and engagement
- New members are invited regularly to reflect on emerging fields and global perspectives
Departing members are acknowledged for their service, and onboarding for new members includes training on journal ethics and policies.
- Diversity and Inclusiveness
NSS actively promotes international representation and gender diversity on its editorial board. The journal strives to:
- Include members from both developed and developing countries
- Maintain disciplinary and methodological diversity
- Support equity and inclusion in editorial leadership
- Responsibilities of Editorial Members
Editorial members agree to:
- Promote and uphold ethical standards in publishing
- Participate in manuscript review and decision-making
- Advise on journal direction, special issues, and improvements
- Declare any conflicts of interest before handling any submission
- Respond in a timely and professional manner to editorial tasks
Inactive members may be retired to maintain a responsive and engaged board.
- Transparency and Public Accountability
All editorial affiliations are verified and published online. Any updates to the board are announced publicly on the journal website.
