Main Article Content
Abstract
The relevance of timely service in child support situations and its effect on the protection of the right to defense in Ecuador. The main purpose is to examine how the lack of timely service impacts the rights of the parties involved and, based on this, suggest important improvements to the legal system. Based on this, the research objective is to develop an analysis of timely service in child support cases. The most notable findings show a widespread lack of understanding about the relevance of timely service, demonstrating that most interviewees understand its essential function in ensuring the right to defense. Additionally, challenges in the legal system were recognized, such as a lack of resources and appropriate technology, which restrict the effectiveness of service processes. Based on these findings, the research determines that it is essential to improve service processes and enhance understanding among both the legal community and the general public. These improvements are essential to ensuring more equitable access to justice in alimony cases, thus strengthening the right to protection and the integrity of the judicial system in Ecuador.
